Hey,
Whenever I try to be balanced, I last a week.
Maximum.
Then I fall back into chaos. And honestly? I love the chaos more.
What Balance Looks Like
Wake up early.
Morning routine. Breakfast. Light work before the gym.
Gym for two hours.
Lunch. Nap.
Afternoon at the coffee shop. Few hours on the laptop.
Evening with friends. Time with family.
Night routine. Journaling. Reading. Reviewing.
Sleep.
That is balance.
It sounds beautiful.
It feels beautiful.
But I cannot sustain it.
What My Real Days Look Like
Wake up.
Quick morning routine.
Sometimes I am responding to a client before I have washed my face.
Gym. I cannot skip it. But instead of two hours, fifty minutes.
Quick shower. Something fast to eat.
Work until my brain stops working.
Forget to journal.
Forget to read.
Forget everything except the thing I am building.
And I love it.
The Truth About Balance
Balance is a beautiful idea.
But balance does not build anything extraordinary.
Success in anything, study, business, craft, content, requires 80% of your day.
If you choose balance, someone else is choosing obsession.
And they will get there faster.
If you are studying for a PhD and you insist on balance, what takes two years will take five.
If you are building a YouTube channel and you insist on balance, what takes three months will take a year.
The math does not lie.
How I Actually Work
When I work on a new Notion template, a new update, a new landing page, a new video, all my focus goes to that one thing.
I have to finish it first.
Then I move to the next thing and focus entirely on it.
I cannot split my attention. I cannot work on this and that and hope both get done.
When will they get done? Never.
Right now, I have not published a YouTube video in almost three weeks.
Even though I am taking YouTube more seriously this year than ever.
Why?
Because I am deep in template updates. Game Mode v3. Second Brain 7.0.
It is taking longer than I expected.
But once I finish, I will not publish one video. I will publish many.
And I will be able to handle quick tasks on the side.
But if I tried to be balanced right now?
It would take ages to finish anything.
The Weight Scale
Imagine an old weight scale.
If you do not put weight on either side, it does not move.
Nothing happens.
To create movement, you must put weight on one side.
Heavy weight. For a period of time.
Then you shift to the other side.
That is how life works if you want to build something meaningful.
Not balance.
Intentional imbalance.
The Lie People Tell
People say: be unbalanced now, balanced later.
I am not sure that is fully true either.
If you are not where you want to be yet, you can have balanced days.
When the work is lighter. When you have breathing room.
But sustained balance? That comes when you have built something.
When you have more time. More money. More help.
When you do not have to do everything with your own hands.
Even then, if you want more, imbalance returns.
The hunger does not disappear.
It just finds a new target.
The Point
If you want to reach your one goal this year, and you should only have one or two, you cannot be balanced every day.
If you have not read that article yet, here it is: I Failed This Year and I Am Disappointed
Balance is what you enjoy between seasons of intensity.
It is not the strategy. It is the rest stop.
