There’s a Hidden ‘Aura’ Inside Notion

There’s a Hidden ‘Aura’ Inside Notion

Hey,

I've been using Notion for over 5 years now.

And I've noticed something almost magical about it that I can't fully explain.

I call it the Notion Aura.

Let me explain what I mean.

Year One: You're Lost

You start using Notion, and honestly, it's overwhelming.

You don't know what you're doing.

Maybe you bought a template like Second Brain 6.0 🙄 to organize your life because building from scratch felt impossible.

You're just trying to figure out databases, relations, and watching tutorials.

Year Two and Beyond: The Magic Starts

Once you start actually using Notion, putting everything together, goals, projects, habits, tasks, finance, something shifts.

You find yourself linking things like a spider web.

You start getting things done without even knowing how.

Here's what happens to me constantly:

I set a milestone for one of my goals, let's say 60 days to complete something.

I get excited and start adding projects and tasks to support it.

The next day, I look at my Notion and think: "WTF did I just do? This is way too much. There's no way I can finish all of this."

But the Notion Aura says: "Yes, you can."

So I commit.

I start small, tackling one project, one task at a time.

And because everything is in Notion, I'm not wasting time wondering what to do next.

I check my projects. I see my commitments. I can't ignore them.

I start finishing the first project, then the first few tasks.

Then I check my progress after 10 days and realize: "Holy shit, how did I already get this far?"

I don't have an answer.

That's the Notion Aura.

The Power of Zooming Out

After many years of using Notion, you develop this ability to zoom out.

There are moments when you check this year's goals or review last year, and you realize you've accomplished so much more than you thought.

That's why you should use Notion. It motivates you by showing you your progress.

For example, there might be a month where your income isn't great.

But if you zoom out and look at the entire year, you realize you made 20% more than last year.

Suddenly, that one bad month doesn't feel so crushing.

What About Other Apps?

I've used Obsidian for a while, and yes, it gives you that feeling of connection, the knowledge graph, the web of linked notes growing.

But it doesn't give you the feeling of progress like Notion does.

Notion shows you completion, momentum, growth.

You see tasks checked off. Projects finished. Milestones reached.

That visual progress is addictive and motivating in a way text-based systems just aren't.

People Say Notion Is Overrated

Trust me, through the years, Notion is fucking underrated.

But here's the critical part: Don't over-customize. Don't over-add. Don't over-plan.

Anything done in excess turns against you.

Take me as an example.

I'm a Notion creator, I build templates for a living, yet how much time do I spend in Notion daily for personal use?

Maybe 30 minutes a day.

That's it.

Morning: Track my daily tasks. If I finish one, I mark it done. If I'm working on it, I set it to "Doing."

End of day: Check off the habits I completed. Review my progress quickly.

Every month or two: Plan new projects. Enter my monthly finances.

That's it. Not too much.

Yes, the first time setting up a template or learning Notion, you'll spend hours.

But after that? It becomes something seamlessly integrated into your life.

You spend 30 minutes managing your system and hours executing because of it.

The Notion Aura isn't about spending all day in Notion.

It's about Notion organizing your life so well that you barely need to think about it.

Don't underestimate the power of Notion.

As they say, it's life-changing.
