Hey,
Let me tell you something beautiful about the Arabic language.
The word for human in Arabic is "Insan." "إنسان " And it comes from the word "nisyan" "نسيان" which means forgetting.
So by definition, we are creatures that forget.
We forget our goals. We forget our true identity. We forget to enjoy the small things. We forget to be grateful for what we already have. We forget what we are working towards. And in our darkest moments, we forget why we even started.
And here is the thing. We need someone to remind us.
But who?
Your friends will not always be there. Your family will not always understand. The internet will give you generic motivation that fades in 10 minutes.
There is no one better to remind you than yourself.
And that is why I want you to start doing something today. Something most people have never done.
Write a future letter to yourself.
Not a journal entry. Not a to-do list. A letter. From the current you, to the future you.
Write it at your best moment. Write it at your lowest. Write it whenever something real is going through your mind. Because one day, your future self is going to receive that letter in a random moment. A moment where they might be happy or broken. Wanting to keep going or ready to give up.
And in that moment, no one is coming to save them.
No one is coming to give them that extra push. No motivational video. No friend with the perfect words. Nothing.
And then suddenly, an email shows up in their inbox.
"Hey Osama, it is me. Old you."
You open it. And you smile. And something moves inside you. Memories come back. Feelings come back. The person you used to be starts talking to the person you have become.
And that one letter, written in 5 minutes on a random Tuesday, could change your entire life path in one single night.
I am not exaggerating.
Because when you read your own words from a year ago, you reconnect with something that nothing else can give you. Your own truth. Your own voice. Not what someone told you to believe. What you actually believed when no one was watching.
So here is what I want you to do.
Go write a future letter. Right now.
Write everything. Be honest. No one is going to read it except your future self.
Write your goals. The things you enjoy right now. The things you want to buy. Where you want to travel. What places you want to see. What you are afraid of. What you are proud of. What you are struggling with.
Be raw. Be real. This is not for anyone else. This is you talking to you.
And here is something nobody tells you. Writing a future letter is not just about the future. The act of writing it is a reflection of your current life. Your current position. Where you stand right now. And that reflection alone opens your mind to new paths you might take one day.
Now for the practical part.
You can use any website or app that lets you schedule an email to yourself. Pick a date. 6 months from now. A year. Whatever feels right. Write the letter and forget about it. It will show up when the time comes.
If you do not trust those apps with your private words, use Notion. Or write it in a notebook and hide it somewhere. Just do not forget to check it. Set a reminder on your phone for the date you want to open it.
But the most important part is this.
You have 5 minutes right now to write it.
Do not say tonight. Do not say tomorrow morning. Do not say when I have time. It takes 5 minutes. You have 5 minutes. Go write it.
You will thank yourself in one year from now.
Thanks for reading. See you tomorrow, Inshallah.

P.S: You will not always have someone to remind you who you are. So remind yourself. Write the letter. 5 minutes. Do it now.
